Is Naturopathic Medicine Medical Expense?

One common question I get asked by clients is, “can I claim Naturopathic expenses such as vitamins/supplements as medical expenses.”

The short answer is…no.

Generally, vitamins and herbs do not qualify as eligible medical expenses, even with a prescription from a medical practitioner.

There are some exceptions, such as Vitamin B12. By consulting a knowledgeable accountant, they can guide you through what medical expenses are (or are not) eligible.
